Safety films for window panes
Safety films films reduce the risk of serious damages
Dagger-like through the air swirling splinters of glass can cause serious damages, if glass surfaces burst caused by forces such as pressure waves, explosions, collisions or hail. The self-adhesive films protect against glass splitting, explosions, burglary. VON KUESTER KG safety coatings of different thicknesses can minimize these risks considerably! The impact energy is absorbed by the ant-shatter film
- Production: The anti-shatter coating is composed of a laminated polyester coating with a hardened surface, which makes the glass surface burst resistant. The safety coating is equipped with a adhesive which is resistant to humidity, condensation and UV-radiation. The anti-shatter film can be applied both inside and outside on the glass surface. The surface of the anti-shatter coating is finished with a scratch-resistant coating.
- Operation: The security films transform glass into safety glass. The impact energy is absorbed by the multi-layed foil. The strong adhesive layer ensures a strong splinter binding. The anti-shatter coating holds broken glass together and protects against damage and injuries from flying glass splinters. Our safety coatings are certified by the Technical Control Board, MPA (Material Testing Office) and I(nspected) A(pproved) S(afe) Institute as a splinter binding measure. The safety coatings are thus a cost effective alternative to removing and installing expensive safety glasses!
- Certificates: According to TCA, MPA and IASI reports our anti-shatter film is splinter binding and burst resistant according to
- DIN EN 356, resistance class P2A (falling ball test)
- DIN 52290, resistance class A1 and (falling ball test)
- EN 12600:2000, resistance class 1B1, 2B2 (pendulum test)
All tests were carried out on behalf of Kuester KG according to the technical standards regarding the general criteria for the operation of testing laboratories.
- Fire behavior: The fire behavior of the anti-shatter foil is classified as flame retardant.
The security foils can be installed to any smooth glass surfaces
- Prevention of injuries: Our security foils are ideally suited for prevention against glass fragments in case of breakage of windows, doors, cabinets, wall systems made of glass in office buildings, public buildings, banks, food processings, hospitals, nursery schools, schools and private homes. Our anti-shatter coating gives optimum protection against glass splinters in case of breakage of glass staircases, balconies, elevators, railings, light boxes in the outside.
- Prevention of economic damage: Hail can break glass roofs with enormous consequences on the building by the following incoming rain. Our anti-shatter coatings are best suited to secure the glass surface by its splinter binding characteristics in order to prevent from economic damages to buildings and equipment.
- Food safety: If the glass breaks in the food production glass splinters may fall into food and machines. Since our safety coatings neither contains pollutants nor secretes pollutants our anti-shatter foil can be used safely in food production. A cleansing and disinfection of the coating with commercial detergents is possible without problems.
- Prevention of burglary and theft: Because of their extreme resistance the foil helps minimize the risk of break-ins and thefts significantly. As much time and effort must be used to overcome the with anti-shatter film coated glass the risk of being discovered increases for the burglar. This contributes that the offender will refrain from his intrusion.
- Prevention of damages from terrorist attacks: In case of attacks and terrorist attacks with stones, bombs, molotov cocktails the safety coating effectively reduces the risk of injury from flying glass splinters. Our anti-shatter coating has an extremely high elongation at break, which absorbs much of the violence. Thus the spread of fire sources and the heat-induced breakage of glass is delayed effective!
The installation of our safety films can take place indoors or outdoors
Depending on the application area, we recommend the inside, outside or special installation of our safety foils.- Indoor installation: Inside the room, the anti-shatter coating can be applied to any smooth glass surface. This applies to all windows, doors, cabinets and dividers made of glass.
- Outdoor installation: Outdoors recommended for glazing of stairs, balconies, elevators, railings Lightboxes our weather-resistant, outdoor deployable shatter coating.
- Special installation:
- For synthetic glass (polycarbonate surfaces, PMMA, Perspex, Plexiglas, etc.) we recommend our especially for synthetic glass developed security foil SAF 400 K Xtra for synthetic glass.
- In high-risk areas of glass, we recommend the installation of the anti-shatter coating on the interior and exterior side of the glass surface. The glass is so embedded between two security coatings, maximum prevention is ensured.
- To avoid injury from broken glass, we recommend pasting the mirror back with our bi-fiber reinforced anti-shatter coating mirror safe 200.
Attractive color variations of the anti-shatter foil available
Our safety coatings are available in different colors with individually designed and varying degrees of reflections:- clear, so no sight and light los
- matt white
- tinted silver
- tinted gray
