Film structure: Structure with low emissivity

Installation: How to install energy-saving films

The following special features must be observed when installing in order to achieve an ideal result.

Installation on the room side of the window

The self-adhesive films can be applied on the room side to single glazing (one pane) and simple insulating glazing (two panes without thermal insulation). We advise against coating modern insulating glazing (two or three panes with thermal insulation) in order to prevent stress cracks in the glass in strong sunlight.

💡 Tip:Window manufacturers often label the silver glass strip in the space between the panes with a label such as “Thermo”, “Plus”, “K-Plus”, a snowflake, a sun or numbers 1.1, 1.6, 1.8 or 2.0. In this case, no energy-saving film should be glued to the room side.

Installation with wet bonding process

The bubble-free installation is done using the so-called wet bonding process. To do this, thoroughly clean the surface to be coated and spray it with a little installation fluid (release agent and lubricant). Peel off the protective liner on the back, spray the adhesive side and attach it to the window. Squeeze everything out from the middle with a squeegee until there are no bubbles and wipe the edges dry, done. Any white discoloration of the adhesive will disappear within a few days.
