Because of the special adhesive it is easy to wipe it off and gentle to the surface. The film can be removed residue-free even after years without damaging the surface.

Ideal for polycarbonate and plastic glazings

The protective films can be installed on all rigid plastic panels with a smooth surface, both interior and exterior installations are possible. They are ideal for polyvinyl chloride (PVC), acrylic glass, polystyrene (PS), polycarbonate panels (PC), Perspex and Plexiglas. All films for plastic glazing are manufactured to a high quality and designed for a long service life. Not suitable for panels with scratch protection layer

The plastic films are not suitable for installation on plastic panels that have a scratch-resistant coating on both sides. This is the case, for example, with Lexan Margard panels with the model names MR5/MR5 E or FMR5XT. With artificial glass that has a scratch-resistant coating on one side, the plastic films can only be applied to the back. Be careful if you want to bond plastic panels with the model names HLG5 or FLG5XT. It cannot be used on heavily corrugated panels because the film does not adhere permanently in deep depressions and grooves.

Installation: Step by step installation on synthetic glass

The plastic films are installed using the so-called wet adhesive process. Read how the installation is done step by step:

1. Clean the surface to be coated thoroughly and spray it with release and lubricant agent (installation fluid).
2. Cut the film to size: The foil edges must have a distance of 1-2 mm to the rubber of the window frame.
3. Peel off the protective foil on the back of the coating and also spray it with the installation fluid.
4. Posistion the wet coating on the sprayed window pane and put it to the final position on the surface.
5. Squeeze everything bubble-freee with a squeegee starting at the foil center to the foil edges.

💡 Tip: You can protect exterior coatings by sealing the foil edges with a permanent silicone seam against unwanted weathering effects.

Care: How films for synthetic glass last a very long time

With the right care, the coatings will look like new for a long time. Here are some care tips on how the films last a particularly long time:

1. Laminated plastic glazings should always be cleaned wet. Small particles can cause scratches when cleaning with a dry cloth.
2. Aggressive cleaning agents that contain abrasive particles should not be used. A mild detergent or conventional glass cleaner is better.
3. So cleaning is best done with plenty of water. A rubber squeegee and commercially available glass cleaning agents are suitable aids.
4. The best results are achieved when wiping water from the center to the edge. This is an ideal way to wash out excess water or dirt.

💡 Tip: In order to maintain the clarity of exterior used foils, the coatings should be cleaned 3 to 4 times a year as described above.
